Yes, we have roll-off container services available for large commercial accounts. We do not however, provide residential pick-up.
We have cranes, hi-lo’s and loaders to help with heavy material. We also have an experienced and friendly staff available to help unload and identify your material.
All appliances must be free of any CFC’s before you can sell. Freon must be reclaimed by a licensed recovery facility such as a heating and cooling business or an appliance store. Venting is the act of cutting lines on appliances such as refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners that have a compressor attached to them. It is illegal to release Freon into the air and this is one of the main contaminants polluting our ozone. This is why we advise you to visit a Freon reclaiming facility. At our facility, we require that the compressor be removed as well, prior to selling any appliance containing Freon. We will buy the compressor separately but it must be removed prior to selling.
Yes, we can provide certified weight tickets. There is a $7 fee for this service unless you are a registered customer or are doing a move for the armed forces.
First, you must file a police report and get a case number. Then, if you visit the website www.scraptheftalert.com you will be prompted to fill out a form. This website is the industry recognized database that most quickly informs scrapyards across the region about reported material theft.

Although we don’t require a scrapping or junk license to sell scrap, the City of Detroit has recently been targeting people transporting scrap materials. City code does state that a junk license is required in order to scrap in Detroit. Most of the public is recycling private property and should not be subject to the license requirement. But, if you scrap often and drive around looking for material, it can save you a lot of time, money and aggravation if you obtain a license.
